The Blackstone Society at the University of Western Australia invites members of Women Lawyers of WA to take part in the Women in the Law Scheme run by the Blackstone Society. This program pairs female practitioners with female law students in their final years of study. Since its creation, the mentor scheme has provided many graduating females with a foot in the door to the legal profession and this year the Society hopes to have its largest contingent of female practitioners. It would be delighted if you could offer your expertise and experience to the students who are involved in the program.

The Women in the Law Mentor Scheme encourages each participating practitioner to mentor two students throughout 2008. Furthermore, in order to foster the relationship between mentor and student, there will be three functions held throughout the year – the program's launch, a mid-year cocktail party and a breakfast to conclude the scheme. The Blackstone Society trusts that you appreciate that mentoring a law student does take some time and effort and thanks you in advance for your commitment to the success of the program.

If you have any questions, please contact the Blackstone Society's equity officers (Alex Biddulph 0431280861 or Danielle Atlas 0406492385).  Otherwise please email your RSVPs to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by February the 28th.
